Pre-Orders
We operate on an honour based system for our pre-orders.
We do not require an upfront payment, deposit or percentage charge, only that you honour your commitment to order something with us. Failure to do so will result in your name being black listed preventing further orders and our immediate disappointment in you. We will hold pre-order items for 7 calendar days. After that we may cancel your order.
(Note: This only applies to "Collection" orders due to the nature the website is designed and the checkout process. If you pre-Order something and want it posted you will unfortunately need to pay up front, but fortunately we only offer confirmed pre-orders, read below!)
We ONLY ever offer confirmed pre-orders after we have received our allocations form a distributor. We do not subscribe to the ideology that businesses should oversell to customers via pre-orders and then have to allocate products to said customers. Do right by us, and we'll do right by you.
Delivery Options
We strive to get your orders packed and shipped within 48 hours of your order being placed excluding Sundays & Mondays (We're closed those days!)
Shipping Options include:
- Standard Shipping is £2.99 and will usually take 2-3 business days to arrive once it's posted. Please note, this may vary during the Covid Pandemic. This option is handled by Royal Mail.
- Express Shipping is £5.99 and will usually take 1-2 business days to arrive once its posted. Please note, this may vary during the Covid Pandemic. This option is handled by Royal Mail.
- Standard Shipping "Free over Fifty" will offer you free standard shipping on orders over £50.00. This will usually take 2-3 business days to arrive once it's posted. Please note, this may vary during the Covid Pandemic. This option is handled by Royal Mail.
-Express Shipping "Free over One Fifty" will offer you free shipping on orders over £150.00. This will usually take 1-2 business days to arrive once its posted. Please note, this may vary during the Covid Pandemic. This option is handled by Royal Mail.

From time to time, we may collect, store and use personal information collected from visitors to this website. All processing of personal information is done in accordance with current UK Data Protection legislation.

The presence of a hypertext link on our website shall not be deemed to be a recommendation or endorsement of such website by Gecko Retail.
Security
Gecko Retail are very aware of how important it is to today’s internet consumers to know their personal information safe. That's why all of our transactions are managed by PayPal, and shipping is conducted through Royal Mail. Shipping is often sent to the customer via Tracked & Signed for mail to provide maximum security and piece of mind. For larger transactions we will often send parcels via the "Guaranteed by 1pm" method to provide extra reassurance and insurance.
Return Policy
Up until now we have offered a generous return policy for any product, giving customers the "benefit of the doubt". But unfortunately a few people have taken advantage of our good nature recently after we set-up our store online and tried to return items either tampered with, re-packed or several months after purchase. Our new return policy is as follows;
- Please contact us via the "message us" button on the "contact us" page to get in touch about returning an item.
- Products can be returned within 14 days of purchase if bought in-store or 28 days of the purchase date in bought online, providing you can provide proof of purchase. We cannot accept returns if items that have been opened.
- Returned items must be in the same condition they were sold/shipped (All items are sold/shipped factory sealed unless otherwise stated in-store or in the items description on our website).
Example: If you purchase a Pokémon TCG booster box it must still be sealed and/or in its original cellophane wrap and if included, in its additional Geckos Stamped Security Seal.
- Any return postage costs must be paid for by the consumer.
- Any faults associated with merchandise (Including, but not limited to, damaged stitching on a plush, a poorly cut or miss-spelled Pokémon card) are not liable for a return from us and must be returned via the manufacturer. We will however, endeavor to help in this process however we can.
- On receipt of the returned item we will inspect it to make sure it complies with the above mentioned points and if so, work with the customer to offer either store credit, a partial refund or a full refund.
Damaged Returns
Damaged items can be returned via the above return method with the following exceptions;
- Damaged items can be returned in-store with 14 days of purchase or if bought online, within 28 days of purchase.
-On return of a damaged item we will endeavour to replace the item like for like, failing that we can offer a full refund.
- If items do arrive with you damaged please take pictures of the item and its packaging and send us the photographs immediately.
- If a damaged item has been opened (by you) we will not accept it as a return.
- Although we endeavour to ship only the best of our Pokémon merchandise out to our online customers, people have occasionally received items with cosmetic damage. For example: One way that we combat this is to open booster boxes that have minor tears in the cellophane and sell them individually in-store, meaning we only ship perfectly sealed products to online customers.
- We define "Cosmetic damage" as, but not limited to, a minor tear in the cellophane of a product or a minor dent to a corner. We cannot accept returns for cosmetic damage.
Cancellations
If you would like to cancel an order after it has been placed, we recommend you contact us ASAP because if it's a slow day we often get orders posted within the hour!! Please note; Changes or alterations to an order may result in a longer processing time.
- If we have already dispatched your order then please send us a message to let us know via the "contact us" page. You should then follow the procedure already outlined for return orders above. On receipt of you item we recommend you do not open the parcel and simply return it to us via the return address on the box.
- Any return postage costs must be paid for by the customer.
- Cancelled orders will be subject to a £0.30 cancellation fee, plus 2.90% of the orders value, excluding postage. This must be paid before a refund is issued for the cancelled order.
Business/Pre-Order Cancellations
In the unfortunate event that we can't fulfill a customers pre-order we will issue a full monetary refund for the amount of the item, including any postage charges. We will also waive the cancellation fee (mentioned above).
For the terms of this policy we would consider an order "unfulfilled" if it can't be sent to you within an acceptable period of time or if the item is out of stock with the distributor(s) for a considerable period of time.
We have currently had to refund [1] pre-orders between the dates, [04/08/2020] to [18/05/2024]. E-commerce platform closed down on 18/05/2024.
